#2: Genuine Networking with Heart
Last Thursday marked the second edition of the GUURU Community Circle – our exciting new networking event designed specifically for the e-commerce industry. This time, the gathering took place in the historic city of Cologne. The event was a great success, bringing together a wide range of professionals, innovators, and decision-makers who share a passion for shaping the future of online retail.
A Friendly Start, Focused on Connection
Around 12:30 PM, guests were welcomed at the stylish Design Offices Köln Dominium with delicious finger food and refreshing drinks. The relaxed setting immediately created an open and friendly atmosphere. At 1:00 PM, we kicked things off with a round of introductions – giving everyone the chance to get to know each other and make their first meaningful connections. A perfect start to a day full of inspiration and exchange.
Discovering Cologne – Together
After the initial networking session, the group set off on a short walk to the majestic Cologne Cathedral. The stunning backdrop and fresh air made for a welcome change of pace and sparked plenty of conversation. By 1:45 PM, we dove into the fascinating world of “Underground Cologne”. The guided tour offered surprising insights into the city’s hidden treasures – leaving many of our guests truly amazed.
Practical Insights & Fresh Impulses
Back at the Design Offices, the official part of the event kicked off at 4:00 PM. After a short welcome, we dove into the core content of the day – the GUURU Community Circle. This was the space where creative ideas and best practices came to life.
Jack Wolfskin presented an inspiring use case that impressively demonstrated the power of community-driven support in their online store. Next, Platform Group shared their case via bike-angebot.de, under the headline “Emotion in E-Commerce.” Their presentation showed how strong emotional branding can build lasting customer relationships – even in the digital space.
The exchange was further enriched by leading brands like Arena Sport, Einhell, LEMMO, BRAX, and Asics, who actively joined the discussion and contributed valuable perspectives from their own D2C journeys.
Open Discussion & Real Connections
The discussion round at 5:30 PM turned out to be one of the day’s highlights. In an open and welcoming setting, participants shared their experiences, asked questions, and tackled current challenges in the e-commerce space. The lively exchange not only sparked new ideas but also created meaningful connections among attendees.
Winding Down at the Brauhaus – and Looking Ahead
The day came to a relaxed close with a casual dinner at Brauhaus Sünner im Walfisch, where the conversations continued in good spirits. For guests traveling in from out of town, the Ruby Ella Hotel Cologne provided comfortable and conveniently located accommodation just around the corner.
Conclusion:
The second GUURU Community Circle was not only informative, but also a fantastic opportunity for relaxed, authentic networking. The blend of local culture, inspiring talks, and high-profile participants made the event a resounding success. We’re already looking forward to the next edition – because the D2C community still has many stories to tell.
